Pay: $24 - $29 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Prep Crew Leader to support our paving and concrete operations. This role is critical in ensuring our asphalt and concrete crews are set up for success by preparing sites efficiently, accurately, and safely.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable both leading a crew and working alongside it in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Work ahead of paving and concrete crews to prepare job sites for:

• Asphalt paving

• Sidewalk installation

• Curb and gutter construction

• Operate equipment such as motor graders and other prep machinery as needed

• Shoot, check, and maintain grade to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications

• Coordinate and communicate with Paving and Concrete Superintendents to ensure seamless workflow

• Identify and resolve site issues before production begins

• Jump in to assist crew members with manual work—including raking, grading, and cleanup—when necessary

• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity

Qualifications

• Proven experience in site prep, grading, and paving/concrete support work

• Demonstrated ability to operate a grader and other heavy equipment safely and effectively

• Strong understanding of grade reading and layout (shooting/checking grade)

• Leadership experience or ability to lead and motivate a crew in the field

• Willingness to be hands-on and work alongside the team

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk intermittently for 5-10 hrs. at a time.

• Ability to squat, kneel, crouch.

• Ability to reach, push, and pull.

• Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.

Pay: $20 - 23 per hour

Day to day our Field Producers can be found installing utilities (such as water, sanitary, and storm pipelines) as well as learning to operate basic equipment (such as rollers and off-road dump trucks). We are searching for 6-8 individuals with great work ethic and an eagerness to learn, to join our team and fill these roles.

Responsibilities

• Assisting skilled Utility Foremen, Superintendents, and Equipment Operators

• Clearing and preparing the worksite for construction

• Demolishing existing structures if necessary

• Removing debris and keeping the site organized

• Loading and unloading materials and equipment

• Digging trenches, backfilling, raking, and compacting earth

• Measuring, cutting, and fitting materials under supervision

• Operating hand and power tools

• Helping with traffic control and pedestrian safety around the site

• Setting up temporary structures (e.g., barriers, fences)

• Performing basic equipment maintenance, such as greasing and cleaning

• Following OSHA and company safety regulations

• Using proper PPE such as hard hats, gloves, and harnesses

• Identifying and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions

• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Solid work history with professional references.

• Willingness to help where needed, even if that means jumping in to do labor work. The "I don't do labor work" mentality is not part of the culture at Partners. We are a team.

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Driver's License

• Ability to work 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Friday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and occasionally on Saturdays.

• Ability to stand, sit, squat, kneel, twist, grasp, reach, and/or bend for up to 9 hours (collectively) per day.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to communicate effectively with others.

• Ability to work both independently and as a team.

• Ability to figure grades and read blue prints is a plus, but not required.

• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Pay: $23-31 per hour

Partners Excavating is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our reputable team. This position is full-time, and job sites are typically in or around the Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Staunton, and Augusta County areas.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience consistently operating heavy excavating equipment. Equipment experience may include excavators (varying in size), bulldozer, loaders, articulated dump truck, pans, and/or rollers.

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Driver's License

Requirements:

• Ability to work 7 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Friday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and occasionally on Saturdays.

• Ability to provide your own transportation to and from jobsites if needed.

• Ability to stand, sit, squat, kneel, twist, grasp, reach, and/or bend for up to 9 hours (collectively) per day.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

• Ability to communicate effectively with others.

• Ability to work both independently and as a team.

• Ability to figure grades is preferred, but not required.

• Ability to read plans is preferred, but not required.

• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Inspection, repair, and maintenance of various machines from small to large in size.

• Inspection, repair, and maintenance of vehicles ranging from pick-ups and dump-trucks to Gradalls and road tractors.

• Fabrication of various hydraulic hoses and parts.

• Responding to emergency repairs.

• Organization of work area.

Experience

• Proven experience as a mechanic on both small and large engines.

• Experience working with John Deere and/or CAT heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience working on autos and/or heavy machinery preferred.

• Previous experience with diagnostic technology.

• Ability to work independently and with a team.

• Driver's License with good driving record required

• CDL a plus, but not required.

• State Inspection License a plus, but not required.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize task effectively.
