Preston Lake

Harrisonburg, Virginia

We began our partnership with the Preston Lake community in mid-2013. One of first jobs was preparing for the brick wall that lines the front entrance and the walking path bridge that goes over the lake. We installed (2) 60” pipes originating from just above the lake to under Stone Spring Road to carry all the water from a 50 acre watershed North of the community. While constructing there were many challenges. One of the biggest being controlling the water during construction because of the large volume a minor rain storm would produce.

When constructing a large community such as Preston Lake one of the bigger challenges is trying to remain “invisible” to current residents. It is next to impossible to do but our team was very aware to do everything in our power to keep things as normal as possible for residents.

After the (2) 60” pipes were constructed there were many more phases of residential development as well as the large commercial piece that borders RT. 33 East of Harrisonburg. While we are not sure how that piece will be utilized in the future we hope to be a part of that development as well.

This project is where Partners bought our first GPS system and are still utilizing it today. GPS technology continues to grow and staying on the cutting edge of that technology is an organizational goal for our team.
