Streetscape Project

N. Main Street from Elizabeth Street to Wolf Street 
This project began in April 2019 and was completed January 30, 2020. We upgraded the curb and sidewalk which were converted to pavers to match the pavers at Court Square. We also put up new traffic lights. Challenges were to keep pedestrians and traffic safe and moving, in addition to keeping businesses open and operational.

E. Market Street from Main Street to Mason Street
Beginning in April 2019 and completed in February 6, 2020, this site included upgraded curb and sidewalk which were converted to pavers to match the downtown Court Square. Additionally, replacement of existing water and sewer lines with new material was completed. The challenges on this site were to keep pedestrians safe and moving, while also keeping businesses open and operational during demo and replacement. Extraction of the 100+ year old water and sewer lines and installation of new material involved highly technical processes to minimize damage and service interruptions.

N. Federal Street from E. Market Street to E. Elizabeth Street
This section of the Streetscape Project was begun in February of 2020 and completed in August of the same year. Federal Street was completely rebuilt, changing it from a two way road into a one way. Pedestrian walkways were all upgraded to a curb and paver design to match the Court Square area. Challenges included keeping entrances/exits to banks and businesses open while the road and sidewalk were demolished and replaced.
